Senator Delph works after session at his seat on the Senate floor
Every ten years, the Federal government conducts its decennial census and then apportions a resulting number of Congressional seats. Once apportionment is completed, the Indiana General Assembly begins the process of drawing the maps for our Congressional districts in addition to our State Representative and State Senate districts.
I have led the charge to keep communities of interest together as opposed to carving up territory based strictly upon the number of Republicans or Democrats in the area. Voters should pick their representatives, not the other way around. That is why this election is so critically important. The outcome of this election will set the table of political power in Indiana for the next decade. I will continue to advocate for a process focused on you and not on me.
