Mike is a staunch believer in and proponent of our US Constitution and our Indiana State Constitution as written laws that can only be changed by constitutional amendment.  As such, he has worked to preserve and protect the guaranteed liberties for all Hoosiers.  A Carmel constituent was precluded by his home owner's association from displaying political yard signs on his own property.  That is now changed because of Mike's efforts to carry SEA 64 into law.

SB1, referred to as the “Castle Doctrine Restoration Act,” passed in 2012.  After the State Supreme court ruled that citizens do not have the right to resist unlawful entry into their homes by authorities, the Indiana State Legislature passed SB1 to codify Hoosiers’ rights to protect themselves and their home from invasion.

Mike supports a citizen’s right to bear arms.  A staunch defender of the 2nd Amendment of the US Constitution, as well as Article I, Section 32 of the Indiana State Constitution, he works to ensure that right is not abridged or disregarded in the State House.
